Made for India

Seven .in domain extensions, from ₹399 a year.

.in is India's country-code domain, run by the National Internet Exchange of India (NIXI). Customers read it as local, it's cheap to keep, and good names are still available.

  • No residency rule. Anyone can register a .in or .co.in. Contact details must be accurate, and NIXI can ask registrants to verify them.
  • Second-level names are cheaper. .co.in, .net.in, .org.in, .firm.in, .gen.in and .ind.in all renew at ₹599 a year.
  • One registry, one set of rules. The same grace period, restore fee (₹4,999) and transfer process apply across the family.
  • WHOIS privacy isn't offered on .in names under registry policy.
.भारत in Devanagari? Hindi-script .भारत names are available on request. Email sales@virtualcloud.in with the name you want and we'll check it with the registry.

Included with every domain

Six extras, no add-on fees.

Every name you register or transfer comes with the tools to point it, protect it and keep it, managed from the same client area as your hosting.

Free DNS management

Edit A, AAAA, CNAME, MX, TXT, SRV and CAA records, or point the nameservers anywhere you like. Changes go live on our nameservers within minutes.

Domain lock and auth codes

Transfer lock is on by default. You unlock it and request the auth (EPP) code yourself whenever you want to move.

Email forwarding

Use hello@ your domain from day one and forward it to the inbox you already check, before you buy mailboxes for business email on your domain.

Auto-renew, with reminders first

We email you 30, 7 and 1 days before expiry, then renew automatically if auto-renew is on. Expired names get picked up quickly, so this matters more than it sounds.

DNSSEC where the registry supports it

Sign your zone so resolvers can tell a real answer from a forged one. Add DS records at the registry from the client area when you use another DNS provider.

WHOIS privacy on eligible gTLDs

Your name, phone and address stay out of public lookups for .com, .net, .org and other eligible gTLDs. Not offered for the .in family under registry policy.

Get a free .in, .co.in or .com for a year with 12-month+ hosting.

Buy any web or WordPress hosting plan on a 12, 24 or 36-month term and the first year of one .com, .in or .co.in is on us. It renews at the normal domain price. If the hosting is refunded, the domain's first-year price is deducted from the refund.

Your DNS, next to your hosting.

Your domains sit next to your hosting, email and invoices. No separate registrar login, no upsell pages between you and a DNS record.

  • DNS recordsA, AAAA, CNAME, MX, TXT, SRV and CAA, so mail from Google Workspace or Microsoft 365 and any outside service works on your domain (see DNS records explained).
  • NameserversUse ours, your hosting server's, or a third-party DNS provider. One field, saved at the registry.
  • Child nameserversRegister ns1 and ns2 on your own domain, which resellers need for white-label DNS.
  • URL and email forwardingSend old domains and typo domains to your main site, and forward addresses to any inbox.
How to point a domain to your hosting
Before you buy

Six rules for a name that works.

A domain is cheap to buy and expensive to change once it's on your signboard, invoices and WhatsApp profile. Five minutes with this list saves that.

  1. 01

    Say it on the phone

If you have to spell it out, it's too long. sharmadental.in survives a phone call; drsharmasdentalcarepune.in doesn't.

  2. 02

    Skip hyphens and numbers

chai-wala.in sounds exactly like chaiwala.in, and some of your email will land with whoever owns the other one.

  3. 03

    Match the market

Customers in India: .in or .co.in. Customers abroad: .com. Exporters and growing brands often keep both and point one at the other.

  4. 04

    Check handles and trademarks

Search the name on Instagram, YouTube and the IP India trade marks register before you pay. A clash after launch is costly.

  5. 05

    Register the near-misses

The common misspelling and the other big extension cost a few hundred rupees a year. Forward them to the main site.

  6. 06

    Turn on auto-renew

Lapsed names are often re-registered by drop-catch services within days of release. Auto-renew plus reminders keeps yours.

A ccTLD is a country-code extension such as .in, run by that country's registry (NIXI for .in) under its own rules. A gTLD is a generic extension such as .com, .org or .store, run under ICANN policies. Both work identically in browsers and for email; the differences are in eligibility, privacy options and price.

Yes. You don't need an Indian address or a registered company to register a .in or .co.in. You do need to give accurate contact details: NIXI can ask registrants to verify them and can suspend names registered with false information.

Many registries discount the first year to attract new registrations, then charge their standard rate. We show both on every search result and in the full price list, so you can see what year two costs before you buy. All prices exclude 18% GST.

We remind you 30, 7 and 1 days before expiry. After expiry there's a grace period of up to 30 days in which you can renew at the normal price. After that the name enters redemption, where restoring it costs a restore fee (₹6,999 for gTLDs, ₹4,999 for the .in family) plus the renewal. If it isn't restored, the registry deletes it and anyone can register it. See the recovery timeline.

Yes, once it's at least 60 days since it was registered or last transferred. Unlock it at your current registrar, copy the auth (EPP) code and start the transfer here. Most extensions get a year added to the expiry date. Check if your domain is ready to transfer.

Yes, on eligible gTLDs such as .com, .net, .org and .store, included with the domain. It isn't offered on .in-family names under registry policy, and country-code extensions such as .io, .co, .me and .ai follow their own registries' rules.

Record changes on our nameservers are live within minutes, but resolvers around the world keep the old answer until its TTL runs out, often an hour or a few hours. Nameserver changes go through the registry and can take up to 24–48 hours to be seen everywhere. Our DNS lookup tool shows what two public resolvers currently see.

If your website is hosted with us, use the nameservers in your hosting welcome email and everything (website, email, SSL certificates) is set up for you. If you host elsewhere, either keep our free DNS and add the records your host gives you, or point the nameservers at your host. Step-by-step guide.

Yes. Most extensions can be registered for up to 10 years; .ai has a 2-year minimum. A multi-year registration costs the first-year price plus the renewal price for each extra year, and you're protected from forgetting a renewal for that whole period.

No. Registrations, renewals and transfers are paid to the registry as soon as they're submitted, so they're excluded from our money-back guarantee. Details are in the refund policy and the domain registration agreement.

One search, all 29 extensions.

Each name is checked live with its registry, and every result shows the first-year and renewal price in rupees.
