Transfer your domain without downtime.
Move your .com, .in and other names here and keep everything that works today. Most extensions get a year added to their expiry, and your website and email stay online throughout.
Checking your domain
About this check. We read each domain's public registry record (RDAP) for its lock status, dates and registrar. It can't see your auth code or whether your registrar will approve, so the final check happens when the transfer starts. Registries for .io, .co and .me don't publish RDAP; for those we confirm eligibility at checkout.
- A year addedMost extensions add one year to your current expiry, so you lose no paid time.
- No downtimeYour nameservers and records stay exactly as they are during the move.
- Free DNS and forwardingDNS management, URL and email forwarding and domain lock, included.
- From ₹599.co.in and the .in family transfer from ₹599, .in for ₹799, .com for ₹1,099. + GST.
How domain transfer works: three steps, about a week.
You do two small things at your current registrar; the registries do the rest. Most transfers finish in 5–7 days, sooner if your old registrar approves early.
-
01
Unlock it and copy the EPP code
At your current registrar, turn off the transfer lock and request the authorisation (EPP) code. Some registrars show it on screen; others email it to the domain's registrant.
-
02
Start the transfer here and pay
Add the domain, paste the code at checkout and pay the transfer price, which includes the extra year. We submit the request to the registry straight away.
-
03
Approve the email and wait
Your old registrar may email you to confirm. Approve it and the transfer completes, or it completes on its own after the registry's waiting period, usually 5 days.
Is your domain ready to move?
Registries apply the same rules everywhere. Tick these six off and the transfer goes through first time. The check at the top of this page tests the first four for you.
- 160 days since registration or the last transferRegistries lock new and recently moved names for 60 days.
- 2Transfer lock is offAlso called domain lock, registrar lock or theft protection. A WHOIS lookup shows whether it's on.
- 3Not expired or in redemptionRenew or restore it at your current registrar first.
- 4No transfer already pendingCancel any earlier transfer request before starting a new one.
- 5The admin email reaches youApproval emails go to the registrant contact on the domain.
- 6EPP code ready, privacy off if requiredSome registrars need WHOIS privacy turned off before they release the code.
Where the EPP code lives at six registrars.

A transfer changes who you pay for the domain, not where it points. Keep your current nameservers until the transfer completes and your website and email carry on as normal.
- Don't change nameservers mid-transfer. Many registrars lock DNS edits while a transfer is pending.
- If your DNS is hosted by the old registrar, copy your records first (see DNS records explained). Their DNS can stop answering once the domain leaves.
- Afterwards, it's your choice: keep the nameservers you have, use our free DNS, or point to your hosting with us.

No. The year included in the transfer is added on top of your current expiry date (two years for .ai), up to the 10-year maximum registries allow.
Yes. The whole .in family follows the same steps: unlock at your current registrar, get the auth code and start the transfer here. A .in transfer costs ₹799 and .co.in ₹599, each with a year added.
We email you the reason, usually a wrong auth code, a lock that was still on or a rejection by the old registrar. Fix it at your registrar and we resubmit the same order. Nothing changes on the domain while it's being retried.
Yes, any time after the 60-day lock that follows a transfer, as set out in our domain registration agreement. Unlock the domain and get its auth code from the client area; there's no fee or form to leave. How to transfer a domain away.
