A Windows VPS is one of our standard KVM plans with the Windows Server licence added. The prices below already include the licence; 18% GST is added at checkout.

Windows Server with the Desktop Experience needs more memory and disk than a Linux server before your own software starts. Microsoft lists 2 GB of RAM and 32 GB of disk as the minimum for that installation, which is why the licence starts at VC-2 (4 GB, 80 GB NVMe) and not VC-1 (2 GB, 40 GB).
| Workload | Start with | Why |
|---|---|---|
| An IIS site or .NET APIone or two admins | VC-2 | 4 GB covers Windows, IIS and a modest app pool, with space for updates to download and install. |
| App plus SQL Server Expresssingle server | VC-2 or VC-4 | Express caps itself at 4 cores and roughly 1.4 GB of buffer pool, so the rest of the memory is for your app. |
| Accounting or ERP for a teamstaff signing in over RDP | VC-4 | Each session runs its own copy of the client. More than two people at once also need RDS licences. |
| A broker terminal or desktop toolrunning all day | VC-2 | One always-on session. Move up if you add charting packages, Excel models or more users. |
| SQL Server Standard, several servicesor a larger team | VC-8 or above | Database engines use as much memory as they are allowed; give them their own headroom. |
Not sure? Start smaller. You can move up a plan from the client area later: a reboot applies it and your data stays in place. Disks can grow but cannot shrink.
Choose Windows when the software you run needs it. If it runs on Linux too, a Linux VPS is cheaper and leaves more memory for your app.

Port 3389 is scanned constantly by automated bots, so expect failed sign-in attempts as soon as the server is online. These five steps close most of that off. Run the commands in PowerShell as Administrator.
NLA makes a client prove who it is before Windows builds a full desktop session, which blunts password-guessing and some pre-login attacks. Windows Server turns it on by default; this checks that it still is (1 means on).

Change the Administrator password on first login, then give each person their own account. Staff who only use an application go in Remote Desktop Users, not Administrators.

The biggest single improvement. Replace the example addresses with your office's fixed IP or range. If your IP later changes, use the browser console in the client area to update the rule.

An account lockout policy stops a bot from trying thousands of passwords against one user. This locks an account for 15 minutes after 10 failures in 15 minutes.

A different port cuts the noise in your logs, but it is not protection on its own; do steps 1 to 4 first. Open the new port before restarting the service, which drops your session. Then connect with mstsc /v:203.0.113.42:49833.

Keep Windows Update on. Let it install automatically and reboot in a quiet hour, and take one of your three free snapshots before a feature update.
Locked out? The browser console in the client area reaches the Windows sign-in screen even when RDP is blocked. See how the console and rescue mode work.
First connection. Our guide to connecting to a Windows VPS with Remote Desktop covers mstsc, the Windows App on Mac and phones, and common errors.
Four common reasons to rent Windows rather than Linux, and what each one needs before you order.
Install TallyPrime or your ERP on the VPS once, and staff in other cities sign in over Remote Desktop to work on the same company data. No office server to keep on and no VPN back to head office.
Add the IIS role with Install-WindowsFeature Web-Server -IncludeManagementTools, then host ASP.NET Core with Microsoft's Hosting Bundle or a classic .NET Framework 4.8 site. Windows services and scheduled tasks run next to it.
The free Express edition holds up to 10 GB per database, which suits line-of-business apps, POS back offices and reporting tools. Bring a full SQL Server licence when you outgrow it.
Broker terminals, charting software and Excel-based tools keep running through market hours, even when your laptop sleeps or your home connection drops. The VPS has its own IPv4 address if your broker asks you to register a fixed IP.
Microsoft licensing trips people up more than anything else on Windows servers. Here is where the line sits.
The licence is billed with the VPS at ₹700 a month whatever the plan size. VPS orders have a 7-day money-back guarantee, but licence fees are not refunded; see the refund and cancellation policy.
Windows VPS costs the same in all six regions. Choose the region at checkout; for staff and customers in India that usually means one of these two.

The plan price plus ₹700/mo for the Windows Server licence. On the smallest supported plan, VC-2, that is ₹1,419/mo on yearly billing or ₹1,549/mo on monthly billing, plus 18% GST.
Windows Server with the Desktop Experience needs at least 2 GB of memory and 32 GB of disk before any of your software is installed, which would leave almost nothing free on VC-1's 2 GB and 40 GB. The licence is therefore offered from VC-2, with 4 GB of memory and 80 GB of NVMe.
Take the IP address and Administrator password from the client area, then open Remote Desktop Connection (mstsc) on Windows, or the Windows App on a Mac, iPhone, iPad or Android device. Our guide to connecting with Remote Desktop walks through it step by step.
Two administrative sessions are included. More concurrent users need Remote Desktop Services client access licences (RDS CALs), which sales can quote. For several active users we recommend VC-4 or larger.
Windows Server 2022 and Windows Server 2025, both with the Desktop Experience. You can reinstall or switch versions from the client area and the licence fee stays the same. A reinstall replaces everything on the disk, so take a snapshot or copy your data off first.
Yes. You have full Administrator access, so the port, Windows Firewall rules and every other setting are yours to change. If a change locks you out, the browser console in the client area still reaches the Windows sign-in screen.
Yes. Three on-demand snapshots are free on every VPS, and the Daily backups add-on, at 20% of the plan price, copies the whole server once a day and keeps each copy for 14 days.
VPS orders have a 7-day money-back guarantee, but licence fees, including the Windows Server licence, are not refundable. See the refund and cancellation policy.
Yes, if you choose Mumbai or Delhi NCR at checkout: the VPS and its disk stay in the region you pick. Windows VPS is also available in Singapore, Frankfurt, London and New York at the same price.
Pick a plan, choose Windows Server 2022 or 2025 and a region, and sign in over Remote Desktop, usually within 15 minutes of payment.
